Designing and Editing net-graphs

{bml graph_design_window.bmp} 1) When the mouse is over the net-graph design area, a new node may be added by clicking the left mouse button on a "free place" (i.e. a place where no node already exists). An existing node may be deleted, by clicking the right mouse button on an existing node (be careful, there is no warning!) A new edge (or link) may be added, connecting two existing nodes, if the left mouse button is first clicked over the starting edge and then clicked over the destination edge. (New edges are initially shown in Red colour).

Notes:

1) The current graph may be decorated with a background image; see the appropriate help section about this.

2) The current graph may be saved, loaded, or edited, using the appropriate dialog control-buttons. see the appropriate help section for more details about this.

3) The background image-file must be situated in the same directory as the main graph-definition-file. If not, it will be forced to be so! (by file-copying operations, done by the program invisibly).

4) Future versions of this feature will have virtual coordinates, allowing potentially infinite graphs to be displayed and processed. This is important for serious G.I.S. applications and research.

5) Each new node is named automatically with a name that is inside the (comma-delimited) "node symbols", on the bottom-left edit window. If a node is deleted, its name may be re-used. At the moment, only single-character node symbols can be used; it is planned to have long names for the nodes, which are become visible when the mouse passed over the area of each node.
